The first phase of the mid-rise commercial development at the Warner Bros’ studio tops out in Burbank next week. Designed by the world renowned architect Frank Gehry, the eight level structure sits atop a four level below grade parking podium. In true Gehry fashion the structure has exposed columns poured out of plumb and a boxy, glass and metal facade exterior.
The concrete scope will take just over 15 months to place 65,000 cubic yards. With over 940,000 sq. ft. of elevated deck, crews were pouring a deck every two days during peak production. Largo is working with general contractor Krismar and structural engineer Englekirk Phase 2 is expected to top out in February of 2022.
