The 130-unit Casa Adelante development at 681 Florida Street topped out in San Francisco this month with general contractors Cahill / Guzman, JV. The ten level above grade structure is located in the Mission District and dedicated entirely to affordable housing. The Mission Economic Development Agency worked hard to ensure the property remained affordable and even earmarked 30% of the units for the formerly homeless. Mithun architects and Structus, Inc. structural engineers hope to have the building complete during the spring of 2022.
Concrete construction began in January with the placing of a 3,510CY. Two truck mounted boom pumps placed an average of 350CY/Hour for 10 Hours. Concrete Support Systems’ three piece decking system was used for the 14,638sf. The building façade features exposed concrete columns and upturn beams at levels two, five, eight and at the roof with horizontal reveals. Teams accomplished these architectural elements using the shotcrete method of construction. Over the course of eight months Largo will have placed 11,0000CY.
