UH Residences for Innovative Entrepreneurs
In mid-February, Largo will begin working on the Residences for Innovative Student Entrepreneurs (RISE) at the University of Hawaii. Located on the northwest corner of Metcalf Street and University Avenue, the RISE is the university’s first project delivered in the Public-Private-Partnership format. The scope includes a new two level parking podium with four levels of steel frame above and retrofitting the historic pink Charles Atherton YMCA building. The residential component will house undergrade and graduate students in 220 rooms with 374 beds. The $80m project also includes a 7,263-square-foot multipurpose space with co-working areas, meeting rooms, a classroom, and prototyping labs with 3D printers, scanners, and laser cutters. Largo is working with general contractor Moss Construction, Design Partners, Inc. architects, and Baldridge & Associates structural engineers.
