Doing Work in West Los Angeles – 3.5million sqft and 175,000CY of Concrete!

Largo Concrete was recently awarded the cast-in-place, 7-level, 531,000gsf, Fountainview at Gonda project in Playa Vista, CA. Nestled amongst the already underway Runway and Playa Villas projects, this is the fifth contract Largo currently has along Jefferson Blvd for a total of nearly 3.5million square feet and 175,000CY of concrete!
The Runway at Playa Vista project is the centerpiece for the new development and consists of 230,000sf of retail space, 30,000sf of commercial, 420 apartments and a nine-screen theater. Largo’s scope includes three mixed-use podiums with metal decking above, two residential podiums with wood framing above, and one stand-alone, long-span parking structure for a total of 812,121gsf and 41,074CY. Largo started construction on Runway in June of 2013 and is scheduled to be poured out on August 2014.
Shortly after work started at Runway Largo was awarded the Playa Villas project with Western National Contractors. Divided into three parcels along Jefferson Blvd., Parcels One, Five and Seven are all 3-level parking podiums for wood frame residential units above. Parcel 1 includes of 646-stalls across 298,000gsf, Parcel 5 has 998-stalls across 765,000gsf and Parcel 7 with 1,432-stalls across 1,040,000gsf. Largo is schedule to be wrap up Playa Villas in November of 2014, with a total of 2,103,000gsf and over 100,000CY of concrete.
In order to keep up with demand, Largo purchased two 39meter Concrete Boom Pumps to service the projects. With the ability to pump a combined 1,400CY per days both pumps have been kept busy since they arrived onsite!
