Wai Kai Resort

Largo is currently working with a repeat client on world class surf resort in Hawaii. Located on West Oahu, the concrete scope consists of six buildings ranging from one to three levels and retaining walls for the worlds’ largest deep-water standing surf wave. Measuring 100ft wide the wave pool can be separated into three channels to run competitions or produce a variety of waves to accommodate all skill levels. The citywave® technology creates endless waves two to six feet high with deep water in front and behind the wave. This natural shape allows for carving turns and top-to-bottom surfing. The 22 high-power pumps and adjustable sub-surface foils can create breaking sections for attacking the lip or practicing airs. The development also features high-end retail and food stores and access to the adjacent 52-acre lagoon for water sports and activities. Due to the projects proximity to the ocean the “cocktail” ready mix design including shrinkage reducing admixture, waterproofing admixture, and corrosion inhibiting admixture.
