CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 – Quality of Life Award
Largo Concrete was recently recognized by the American Equipment Manufactures for our contribution to the Crescent Dunes Solar project in Tonopah, NV. Ted Rebelowski, Project Executive and Alfonso Campos, General Field Superintendent for Largo Concrete received the Quality of Life Award at the Construction Expo in Las Vegas this March. The award focuses on projects which improve the overall quality of life for communities all across the country and the individual contractors whose hard work makes these projects possible.
When complete the Crescent Dunes Solar Plant will provide up to 75,000 homes with clean energy during peak hours, generate $47 million in tax revenue over its first 10 years of operation, and create 4,300 direct and indirect jobs. Largo poured 9,348 caisson foundations over 7 months at the 2,700 acre site, nearly 71,000CY and 145 jobs at peak production. Working in extreme environments can pose unique challenges when it comes to manpower, equipment and the environment; all of which Largo familiar with over after completing 500MW of renewable plant experience.
